United Finance is a locally owned traditional installment lender founded in 1922, and operating 25 branches in Oregon, Nevada, Washington and Idaho. We offer consumer loans for autos, debt consolidation and many other borrowing needs. United Finance also purchases retail installment contracts from auto, motorcycle, and boat dealers, appliance stores, and other sources.

Since 1922

United Finance traces its origin to an automobile financing business founded in 1922 by Ralph C. Parker. In 1944, Ralph C. Parker joined a partnership, United Finance Co., which was the company’s immediate predecessor. United Finance Co. was incorporated March 22, 1954 and Richard H. Parker became president in 1956. Richard H. Parker, Jr. serves as Chairman of the Board with Richard H. Parker, III serving as President and CEO.

I will be honest in saying I get major anxiety any time I know that I need to reach out to anyone in any type of customer service position because of my recent interactions with xfinity, verizon and other companies. I tend to put off making these calls because I never seem to be able to resolve whatever issue I am reaching out to the company for. When a rep in the Gresham office misquoted the amount I owed I ended up being short by like $3 and Gresham was hard up for that $3 let me tell ya lol! Also after the passing of a friend of mine, he had a loan on a vehicle I was buying from his widow to help her. They took care of the loan and I was able to get the car registered in my name.I did have one bad experience, however it wasnt the people.. it was just the situation. I needed a loan and all I had was my van as something to go against. The van was not worth the price of the loan I was asking for, so they denied me, however they tried to help me to see what I can do to get the loan. It didn't solve the issue, but it was nice not to have the door just slammed in my face.

I don't understand the negative reviews. Interest rates are high, but that is to be expected for a loan company that specializes in helping people with less than stellar credit. I have been doing business with United Finance for over 15 years.Even when my credit score was better, I would continue to get loans from United, just paid them off early so I wasn't paying the interest. Russ, at the Vancouver location is the best. He understands that life happens. He greets me by name every time I go in, even after 6 mos. to a year has gone by. Will continue to provide them my business, as long as Russ is the manager.
